I'm going to Montana in June and we might take the truck , any advice as far as things to look at or tune up ? It's got a brand new top end and I want to change tranny fluid. Can I bump the timing up past 14* for fuel mileage?
It's revs at 1600rpm doing 100km/hr.

Overall, if it's up to date on maintenance, I'd do a fresh oil change & hit the road.

 

Sorry it's a 93 5.8 4x4 xlt. I always try to beat my personal best with my fuel mileage on it. This should be a good opportunity to do it. My best so far is 670 km out of both tanks
