Clear up some spring info for a newb
Before the I start I have an 02 7.3 4wd Limited.
I'm fairly new to the Excursion and I'm having problems trying to decipher the spring codes.
this weekend I am going to the junkyard and I'm going to pull the springs off of an 04 F-350 SRW 4wd but I need to know what springs it has on it. From what I can gather it's going to have b codes on the rear but I have to read the sticker to find out what spring is on the front.
I tried to read the sticker on my excursion and under spring it has dg and I know the rear spring is an A code.
I am currently running Factory Harley-Davidson F250 rims and 275/65 20 tires and was just would like a little bit of a lift until I buy a 6 or 7 inch lift next year just so my tires quit rubbing up front when I turn.
Would it be best just to keep the factory Excursion rear springs and use the taller F350 rear block and then use the front F350 springs? Or go full f350 front and rear springs and rear block?

Yes, all 4X4 PSD EXs came with D code front springs and ALL EXs came with G code rears.
For what you described all options should get you through for a year or until you get your big lift. If you don't tow very heavy just adding the taller blocks to the stock rear springs will get you 2" of lift and either V or X codes from the donor should provide enough front lift to get rid of your rubbing issues.

Do yourself a favor and get the ATS spring kit for the Excursion. It comes with every nut and bolt you need. Just installed it on mine a few weeks ago. Will save you a lot of time and headache looking for the correct parts. Give them a call. Very cool guy.

Ive got the exact same truck as you and found some used front springs from a junk yard off a low mileage F350 with the snowplow package. X codes. Ive got a Ranch Hand full steel bumper so I wanted the extra stiffness. Im still running factory rear springs and blocks, but added RAS for the rear, which I think maybe gives it a half inch or so back there.
When not hooked up to a trailer, I sit exactly level. When I tow, I squat a bit, and so I plan on calling ATS one of these days.
