Engine was warm but not hot. I waited about a half hour after driving to drain. Next time I want to drain with the oil HOT as that will move faster and drag whatever it can out with it.
I use the ez drain on my 2013. I usually attach a hose to it so I can move the drain pan under the oil filter and do that at the same time.
I use a 1 gallon milk container that I cut the top off and left the handle intact. As you loosen the filter and it starts to drain into the pan I will put that container under it and spin it off.
Then to kill time I drain the fuel/water separator and do all my underside inspections.
But you left about 2 oz in the oil Pan! That cant be good for the engine!
if you think you're getting a complete/bone dry drain (via removal of the conventional drain plug) you're fooling yourself. The 6.0L had .9 quarts that remained in a reservoir for the HPOP and that remaining quart never had any impact on the engine or wear.
you'll always have oil left in a motor after any change.
I can tell you thru YEARS of sampling - if any oil is left in the system after an oil change its does little to impact the engine and wear.
