2007 F150 5.4 flex fuel

If my vin code is V, do I need to use a flex fuel engine? I do not use nor prefer ethanol, at any %.

What makes the engine flex fuel is the PCM, a sensor in the gas line to tell how much ethanol is in it, and maybe (MAYBE!) some updated fuel lines. That's it.

The engine itself is no different, I wouldn't think.

Thanks. Folks with the V code engines act as if they are gold. 1900 for a junkyard engine but a 2004 engine can be found under 300.

I wouldnt think Ford would make drastic changes. I have seen that there was an injector change but I should be able to use my plenum.

Should I grab the PCM as well?

The only sensor in the fuel lines is the fuel rail pressure sensor in the fuel rail

You are correct. I was reading some OBD-II documentation from Ford just now, and I ran across a statement that since 2000 model year, the ethanol/flex-fuel sensor has been removed, and the ethanol content is now "inferred".
