Another cab rescued

I found this guy that is very solid. Still has the original cab orders and in the southeast no less. It does have some rust pitting but some high build primer will take care of it. Hoping to get it blasted this Friday and spray some primer. Then on to putting in some floor pans until I finish building the frame. The trans tunnel will need some work for the Cummins. It still had the glove box, ash try and gauges. I'm going to try and re use all of these. The gauge bezels have seen their better day but maybe I can find some or worst case fill in the spots and paint them.

5.9 6bt. The floor pan on the drive side and passenger side need replacing but debating to go a head and do it or leave it like it is. There's going to be some cutting for the trans tunnel when I set the cab on the frame.

The Cummins 6BT is an extremely heavy engine with lots of torque. You are going to have to significantly reinforce the frame and upgrade the suspension in order to handle it. All that adds weight also.

You may end up with a vehicle that is only good for "Rollin' coal".

A close friend and I are building the frame with 2x4 3/16th wall on air bags. It's more of a hot rod, cruiser and not a full restoration project. Although I am restoring the cab as best as I can with what I have. Custom frame and using F1 parts (one of my favorite trucks) bed, hood, grill, cab.

Something like this but with paint.
