whirring noise from transfer case/front end
Hey everyone - I have what appears to be a very common issue on the Ecoboost F-150's, but no one seems to have posted the fix on the forums. I have a 2016 Ecoboost Expedition EL. Before I visit the dealer I would like to tell them *exactley* what is wrong so I don't waste my time and have tell me its normal.
Basically - in 2wd when you reach 50mph, you hear what sounds like tire noise so to speak and there is a slight vibration in the steering wheel, gas pedel, shifter etc... The sound gets slightly louder the faster you go, but so does the wind noise. When you put the vehicle in 4A or 4H and coast (no gas) the sound disappears. As soon as you put load back on it comes back. However in 2wd you hear it all the time above 50mph. I have seen this *exact* same scenario across lots of F-150's on other forums, but again no fix that I could find.
The truck seems to run fine otherwise, it doesn't seem to effect performance, its just extremely annoying and I am concerned about abnormal wear.
