Are the shocks sold in pairs? When ordering the fronts and rears so I need quantity 1 or 2?

No, the shocks are singles too. Sorry, I should have clarified that.... So, two each of every part number...

They are sold individually. You need 2 fronts and 2 rears. Should be about $125 a piece, $224 for resi, $320 for resi with adjusters.

It was amazing watching that bump stop at 25mph! Holy compression bat man!

Great idea on getting that gopro mounted under the truck!

Has anyone done a comparison between the Fox 2.0 and Bilstein 5100?

I ran the Bilstein 5100 in my last SD. While they performed flawlessly while towing heavy for the life of the truck, they did give a much firmer ride unloaded. The FOX is more compliant unloaded without loosing performance. It's also rebuildable and 100% aluminum so it won't rust or corrode like the Bilsteins did after the first season of winter salt.

Do you think the Fox 2.0 shocks will ride as nice as the RS9000XL? (Assuming I adjust them for a nice on-road ride.)

I don't have experience with those Bill but have read great things. I'm guessing the ride unloaded might be even better with the Rancho's dialed down? I just know I'd never bother with the adjustment and once the salt started, I would no longer have an adjustable shock. Folks I know with them seem very happy though. One thing to consider is that you have a 450. I'm not sure how much shocks will change the unloaded ride with the heavier spring pack? I'm really out of my wheelhouse on that one...

I also ran the 5100 on my last SD with the steering stabilizer and it was a great setup for towing which is what that truck does 95% of the time. So unloaded the Fox offer a better ride; how about loaded up since we are close to the same loaded weight on the truck?

Loaded up, the FOX perform about identically to the Bilstein 5100's due to progressive valving.

How many miles do you all expect to get out of these Fox 2.0's? Or have you gotten on past vehicles?

I admit I'm a little dated. My last Super Duty (they weren't even called Super Duty back then) was a 1991 F-250 with a fuel injected 460 in it.

That thing was a beast. 4cereal

My buddy had (still has) a 40 foot Scarab that was built for Miami Vice but never used in the show. They used to destroy a big boat couple times a year so they had to have spares.

Anyway, he borrowed my F-250 from me to tow that thing. 13,500lbs of boat and at least 3 or 4 thousand pounds of trailer. With very iffy brakes on it.

He'd pull that big sunuvagun from here to Tamp Bay (about 150 Miles) on I-75 doing 70 MPH. He was from there so he'd go up there to party

But, he's a Chevy guy. And a very good mechanic. But still a Chevy guy. Go figure.

So he goes out and buys a used, but very nice, Suburban 2500 with a 454 in it. Sez, 'My Suburban will pull that thing as good as your F-250"

I'm like, "Okay. let me know if you need my truck again.

He did. Those 'magnificent' Chevy 454's were dogs. They wouldn't pull for caca.

And even worse....... He couldn't stop. I was with him in it his first pull with the boat hooked up and it pushed him right through a stop light. Scared me so bad, I had to have a beer afterwards.

Got side-tracked. Point being. My shocks went South (I thought) and I put some Pep Boys shocks on it because they were on sale. $20 each. Installed.

And I couldn't tell the difference between that truck's ride and one that had brandy-new, expensive Rancho's on it. Neither could anybody else, IMHO.

But, like I said. I'm dated on this stuff. So I might have things I need to learn.

Man, that old F-250 was a good truck. It's still around. I see it every now and then. It was so old, that the Super Cab only had one door that opened in those days. But it was a pullin' SOB

In 1986, just out of high school I bit the big one and purchased a 38' Scarab KV. I had a good job (considering that time and date w my age) but the payments eventually were a bit too much (young and dumb) and I was still going to do college (as a freshman, and on the football and basketball team). Busy boy!, Yikes! A year of use then downsized to a 20ft Wellcraft, dealer loved my trade-in, it was pristine and boy, did I LOVE that boat! It was the exact same as the Miami Vice model, colors and all.

Kewl that your buddy still has one ...kinda jealous!

Yeah, well...... He's turned into kind of a hoarder. The Boat just sits there. He put two brand new 502's in it and they aren't even running yet -- After five years.

He's got at least 10 Corvettes, mostly C3's and a few C4's, in various states of disrepair. A couple are running. (I hate Corvettes)

I don't see him that much the last few Months. He's changed. He owns the shop now. Bought it from my brother 12 years ago.

He's also got at least three..... No, four or five, other boats. One of which is beautiful and runs like a striped-assed ape. Can't think of the name of it right now. (two minutes later..... It's a Baja, Outlaw [I think])

People change over the years. You'll see. As you get older, you'll see.
