Need help choosing a back up camera for my '16 SD

Hi everyone-

I have a new 2016 Hallmark Everest slide in pop up truck camper to go on my '16 F-350 and I remove the tailgate when I install it.
The camper is 8.5' long so the rear sticks out a few inches past the bed (but not the bumper).
I am trying to find a decent price for a replacement camera that I could mount on the rear underside of the camper and plug directly into the factory plug.

Has anyone done this and point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Very nice camper you have there! My dealer where I got our Northern Lite down in Denver told me you can buy the same camera that is in your tailgate and mount it to your camper. Apparently there is a kit you can buy to do it. I was not interested in doing it at this time so I did not inquire in more depth.
Something you might want to check out though.

I was able to get a camera that plugs into the factory plug for the tailgate camera, from camera-source.com. It works as well as the original tailgate camera.

Rustofer,
Which camera did you get and how did you mount it?
I have a slide in camper on order and would love to add a camera that will display on the screen of my F350 dash.
Thanks.

Here's my order information:
F150, Superduty Plug & Play Camper Camera Kit, Commercial Grade Cam
Select your truck model
Super Duty
Select your truck model year
2015+
Please select desired cable length
10' (3 meters) CS-FTRSK-SD-15-3

In the order notes I specified it was for a 2017 Super Duty. I mounted it on the bottom of the grab handle beside the door.

This looks like a system that will work for SD's with the factory plug.
Any comments?

smlford, with the end of your camper stopping close to your bumper, you could easily buy the backup camera that came with your tailgate, plug it in and then us a mount that you can quick disconnect from your camper. That is what I would do and not even look at aftermarket cameras. I took my tailgate off this weekend so I could load my camper and it looks to me with your setup like there would be plenty of cable length to do as I suggested.

I read somewhere that the Super Duty version of the camera is better quality than the F150 version. I just leave it bolted to the back of my camper; when I remove the camper and replace the tailgate, the original camera remains in the tailgate and plugs back in.

That is exactly what I want to do.
Nice setup.
I will have to get that ordered and install when the camper arrives.
Thank you.

What model Northern Lite do you have it on? I have a 9.6 on order now.

We are looking forward to getting our NL 9.6 in August.
It is our last big purchase prior to retirement next year!

UPDATE!
I orderedthe camera listed above and while I was camping for a few days it came in.It literally took me 15 minutes to install under the rear of our camper. It was plug and play and restored the factory abilities.
Highly reccomend!
