The PRE 2008 Torqshift only has a screen for a filter and the new one has a nice pleated filter PLUS a fine SS screen with a bypass valve, in the event the pleated filter plugs. Again, the upgrade will allow 100% oil filtration versus about 10% of the oil that the front By Pass filter sees. So if you have both I guess you get 110% filtration!

You need both the filter and the '08+ pan for the upgrade, gasket is re-usable.
