Cool video
When you want to start your truck, turn the key to ON (past accessory, but not to hit the starter), wait about 15-20 secs, then go forward to the starter.
That allows the fuel pressure to build, and any glowplug activity to take place. If you wait too long, the pump shuts off and in about 5-10 secs the fuel pressure bleeds off.
I noticed this behavior when watching and troubleshooting my fuel pressure.
Do you have FRx on the fuel lines? If so, repeated key on, wait for pump to turn off, key off then back on, to repeat a half dozen times or so...can help work air out of the fuel lines.
I guess you know to keep your fingers, rags, small pets away from the turbo intake while running, right?
I chuckled when you cheered as it started. We all know that feeling of relief and elation when we realize we didn't turn our trucks into scrap with our wrenches
Congrats! Go easy on her for a while until you get 50-100 miles on her and all the air is worked out of the lines.

FRx? I guess not lol I don't recognize the name. I have a full stock fuel system. So whatever came on the late 99. Unless the previous owner jacked with it.
Well we got a new cat running around that's just the right size to fit in there. . . Lol. Yes I was clear of it. Nothing that could fly up was left in the vicinity.
Yeah I was happy about it starting. I didn't hardly see anything on the tach so I didn't even think I was gonna he anywhere close to started that night.
Yep. Those miles are gonna be hard trying not to cream it. I installed the oil crossover line so I think my air is just sitting up there lol.
I too am loving the whistle
I'm sure everyone noticed how unorganized everything had become in the 2 months. It was supposed to be a faster job but crap happens.
Now you got me wanting to fart into the intake then running around to the exhaust and waiting

I took it for a ride today. Goes nicely. I think I may have something afoot with the turbo and there is a trans temp sensor that is going bonkers. But nothing that will stop me from going. I think the sensor wiring just got wet. We will see what its doing tomorrow.
COMPLETELY forgot to press the log button. . . Ill get some either tomorrow or monday
