Considering that depending on the source, there were something like 20,000 '69 Charger R/Ts built, not rare, just less common.

I always like the Ebay version of rare, get a rare such and such..usually attached to a high price tag reserve yet there are pages of "rare" items listed below theirs and usually much cheaper, . I came into auto forums with this in mind.

scarce: Hard to find; absent or rare.

rare: Infrequently occurring; uncommon.

uncommon: Not common; rare.
So to answer your Question is there a rare Dentside? I rarely see one LOL

Original Parts for these things are hard to find for that reason so they claim. I am lucky enough to have a complete donor on hand. Parts can still be bought aftermarket OEM for a lot of things.

Rarity is all relative. If you have a 1 of 1 with radio delete and avacado floormats it could be considered "rare" in that there isn't another, but it isn't highly desired and therefore the "rarity" wouldn't increase the value.

I'd love to see a deluxe Marti report on any of the F-350 4x4's with higher trim packages, especially the Crew Cab or Supercab. Relatively low production rates, fairly high attrition rates, and the most highly desired truck for many would qualify those as rare to me.

I figure the bicentennial edition trucks are about as rare as anything dentside gets.

I agree. Also some of these "rare" truck owners like to bring the paint combination into the mix. But in reality, Ford had some awful paint colours (and interiors) in the 70's. A person might use the two tone paint colour as a point of "rarity". The fact remains that some colour combinations were ugly and the truck is still undesirable today. For that reason, I don't put any weight on how rare a truck is because of an unusual colour combination. Conversely, if the truck is well equipped with some unusual options, then the right colour can make it very desirable and usually a very hard truck to find in good condition.

The Marti report for my 79 350 SC 4x4 said it was 1 of 181 for the configuration and the only one of the color. Rare? Not sure, don't care, it's what I want and I'll keep driving it and enjoying my time machine.

the only rare dent is the one you don't have on your truck... but as far as dentsides... they're all limited edition so buy them all and keep them running.

If you run a studio, and are going to be buying a bunch of cars that are going to be used in stunts that will destroy them, do you buy the expensive ones or the cheap ones? You buy the cheap ones and maybe dress them up to look like the hero 426 Hemi R/T hero car.

I think the cigarette lighter delete in my 77 is rare considering the era the truck was made in. I remember seeing everyone smoke when I was a little kid in the 80's, cigarette vending machines and all.

Or the two Boss 429 Hemi Cougars.

Lots of rare options, and a few limited edition models.

Im still hoping to see a factory 351M/400 with a factory 4 barrel. Ive never seen one, but some of thye old timers swear that a few were made.
