Battery Question
Ok, so I've read a bunch of threads recently on batteries being replaced under warranty. Below are pics of my batteries. I've always considered this normal and cleaned it up with hot water and baking soda but I am wondering if this would be a warranty replacement of my batteries? I know I can go to dealership and ask, but I don't want to waste time if it's considered normal. Batteries are nearly 3 yrs old and warranty has about 3000 km's left on it so would need to do this soon.

Dealerships have a lot of discretion for things like this. They might, and they might not. Like you, I would be hesitant to make a special trip to find out. But if you have to take the truck in for any other reason, I would ask about this. If that is not going to be very soon, I'd clean it again, and show the photos if you have a future visit.

I'm wondering what you mean by lack of maintenance? I clean them up every 4-6 months using baking soda and hot water to remove corrosion) and check the levels (which have always been good) and the terminals are sprayed with terminal protector.
Is there something I'm missing about battery maintenance?

I guess I would ask why the batteries outgas as much.
I've had 2 F series trucks and never seen any acid on the tops. It reminds me of cars in the 70's.
Ps, never use baking soda... Just water, all you need to get a tiny amount to seep in and the batteries are toast.
But its cool to see the fizzing 🫣

I had my drivers side battery, all hold down hardware and the battery mat replaced on my super duty a little over a week ago under warranty, for just what your picture shows.

Well, it turns out I have to take it in for an unrelated warranty matter later this week (seized caliper slide pins - I will start a separate thread for some questions on this too if I can't find the answers via search) so I will ask them about this while it's there. If it's not covered, then I will will go the AGM route sooner rather than later. My warranty will be up next month so I may as well give it a shot.
