After market rim size and offset

Replacing stock rims on 53 F100 to upgrade to modern radial tires. I'll be using 235 75 15 tires, but I'am unclear on the best offset to purchase. Thanks, Curt in AZ

For that size tire a 15x7 with 4" of backspace would be a good wheel.

I agree. I have 235/75r15 tires on 15x7 wheels with 4.25" of backspacing on the rear of my '56. My rear end is from a '69 F-100, but basically the same width as the stock dana44.

Schuyles, What rims are those and do they use the stock 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern? Those wheels would look good on Curts truck or any ones truck. I sent you a private message. Matt

Hey Matt. They are Rocket Racing Rocket Strikes. These are 15" but they now make them in 17" too, which I think would be pretty cool. These are copies of the wheels on the original Batmobile (Radir).

Yes these are 5x5.5 in the front and back. Rocket Racing seems to have quite a few nice wheels in the 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

I am replying here to Matt because I can't get a picture to upload to a PM.

Here you can see where the tie rod ends are in relation to the wheel/tire. It is the same on both sides.

Curt it depends on if you have the down and forward springs on the front . My backspace is factory on 15 x7 rims and when I turn hard left the fat part of the tire (sidewall ) rubs on the drag link tube and more so with the new drag link dust seal I did put in a 1/4" spacer but don't like to use them . In the future I will change all that out if I can sell my two front wheels. The springs bring the side wall up in the center of fender. For the moment I have not purchased anything a I am checking and rechecking each and everything I do that might cause a problem going forward. Good Luck. If I can get a picture I will post it.
