My 2002 Ford explorer xlt with the v8 has the unfortunate common blinking 4x4 high and low lights. They flash 3 times when starting up and stopping. I have replaced both speed sensor in transfer case to no avail. Ground wire was also replaced as it was loose still no fix. The only thing I have left is the module behind the glove box and. Shift motor which was replaced a couple years ago during a transmission rebuild. Any advice would be appreciated on what to do next.

 

Mine did that and what it turned out to be was the ground wire on the battery was very loos and when i took it off and replaced it the issue went away so i hope this helps (2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 4.0l )
