WOW. That sucks on the tailgate... Assuming you have full coverage you can use your insurance company to go after theirs. Most states have insurance subrogation laws. There are also negligent security laws in a lot of states too and just because they have that wording on a form, it doesn't release them from responsibility of properly securing your stuff.

I know that each state has different insurance laws but doing the right thing is doing the right thing regardless of where you are.

I talked to my insurance agent who is one of the bigger agents with Auto-Owners insurance which writes a lot of policies for auto dealers in VA. There is a type of insurance called "Garage Keepers Insurance" that most dealers have and mine does.
The blank copy that my agent forwarded to me states that regardless of fault if something happens to a customers vehicle when it is " Under the Care, Control and Custody" of the dealer they will pay.

The problem is that the dealer told me that his deductible is $2500 and they are too cheap to do the right thing...They are offering to pay my deductible which is $1000 instead and have me go through the hassle of getting it fixed.

ARGGGG!

PS. I did not sign anything as the truck was brought in on a flatbed and i was not there...

their insurance, their deductible.

Tailgate and everything attached to it was under there care.

New tailgate makes you whole. $1K deductible does not.

2015 6.7l powerstroke fuel line issue

I have a 2015 6.7l diesel that keeps blowing the slide on fuel lines that hook up to the injectors.. It keeps blowing the o-rings off and takes the line completely off after that happens. I replaced the o-rings and lines and let it run for 5 hrs and everything is fine. Once I test drive it down the road it blows the line off again, and its never the same one.. Thinks its some sort of fuel pressure issue. I am stumped at this point....

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

THE SAGA CONTINUES.....

So just to bring everyone up to date my fuel pump pump was replaced under warranty in May of last year with 9100 miles on the truck. At that time they also replaced the fuel filters.
In January of this year, while in Florida for a convention, my fuel filter light came on and we found a dealer to replace them. The truck had 17,000 miles.

Last week I had the same symptoms as back in May and had it towed to a different (bigger) dealer. Turns out it was the same problem and they replaced the fuel pump again. The truck has about 19,000 miles on it and is stock. The part number for those interested was FC4Z*9G282*A.

Has anyone else's had these reoccurring issues? I'm planning on an extended trip to Alaska next year and will probably put 15,000 miles on the truck with our Hallmark Camper on it and many of those miles will be in very sparsely occupied areas. I would not be a happy camper if we broke down 500 miles from the nearest town....
Maybe I should bring one with us and learn how to change it out myself.
The one saving grace is that Ford warranties the parts and labor for 2 years and unlimited mileage..I just don't want to have to test that out...

may I suggest that once repaired that you drain your water separator weekly if not daily for awhile.

Senix what makes you think there is a water issue? I've never had the "Water in Fuel" light come on..

just a preventative measure. Nothing you said led me to believe you have water issues.

Another though, just to change you fuel filters around 10K.

Maybe that is part of the issue in making the pump work itself to death.
