Fairlane front end radiator mounting ideas

I am running the fairlane flip front end and need to figure out what kind of radiator to use and how to mount. I have a 302 engine btw. I was thinking of a top down aluminum with a puller fan because the opening in the fiberglass is not very wide. Any ideas would be appreciated

AA,

here's what we did with square tubing... stub mount to cross member and radiator slides down over them..

one thing... be sure you have adequate room between air dam and radiator when the hood closes... first try I didn't and it caused me some problems moving radiator back... with a 302 you should be fine...but with a 460 some of the room disappears..

BTW you gotta grind out the weld line in the outer tube or they wont fit...

something else you might want to look at

I finally got the bottom the cab painted and mounted back down for good. Now if I can just get the radiator, exhaust, steering column, seat, fuel and brake lines all in, I will be almost done!

I like the look of the old school top down radiator and it mounts pretty easily but I think the side to side would fill the hole in the front end better. What about the fan, pusher or puller? I think it would fit better as a puller

I'm thinking about room in front of the radiator with the a/c condenser and the fan between radiator and air dam

Without all the stock sheet-metal up front, a large crossflow radiator would be far more efficient than the top-down. There are generic double-pass radiators that are super efficient and should be relatively easy to adapt in the (now) large space available. Just be sure to duct it all well so all the air goes through it.

I'm running a Fairlane front end. I'm using a crossflow radiator cooling a 400 inch sbc.
