Interesting Abe. I did just a very quick search for Coker firestone 6:50X16 tires and came up with a price a little north of $200. Apologies Dan for the shameless hijack.

Just to close with a more appropriate on topic comment; I loved Don T's response to your truck. My sentiments exactly. The natural tendency I think is to save time, cut corners, and limit expenses. You resisted all of these. Good for you.

Thanks Don.
When I was getting started, i spoke with my Dad to get his thoughts. He had a '50 so he could relate. I mentioned I was thinking of going 12 volt and he said "why?" "We drove cars and trucks for years that were 6 volt and had no problems. If you're going to restore it, restore it right." (He grew up just north of Philly with some cold winters.) After that talk, I decided I would 'restore it right' like dad said. I'm glad I did.

All of the kind words from everyone mean a lot.
I really appreciate them all.

Your truck looks great, I too like to keep mine original, mine is f3 so the wood floor is correct. How did you ever come up with the metal floor showing the divider strips underneath?.....I dont think I have ever seen a metal floor restored

Ed,
There is a company in Moberly Missouri called Mack-Hils. They are fabricators.
If you go to their products page, they fabricate parts for old trucks.
mack-products.Com
On the Ford page, they have all kinds of parts including the metal bed floor. That's where I got mine, so it is new not restored.
Anyway, the lady that should answer the phone is named Joy Hummel. She is outstanding!
She will send you a pdf of the catalog or you just check out the website.
They built a wooden crate and shipped the floor and it arrived perfect.
Since Ford spot welded the floor in, that was kinda tough to do so you have to plug weld it. You see the results.
Again, something you don't always see at shows.....

Well, that's interesting Moberly is less than 90 minutes from me. Too bad they don't have pictures on their site.
They also have a sister company that will machine parts. A place like this could be a real good resource for folk.

If you call, Joy will send you a pdf of the catalog. It is not actually photographs if I remember, but you'll get the idea.

That worked great. Thanks.
One thing that jumped out at me was the taillight arms. I thought that 48-52 crowd had a hard time finding them. I wonder if this is a proper source for replacement.
