Engine Oil Motorcraft

I walked through Walmart today. The 15w40 motor oil is marked WSS-M2C171-F1. I saw nothing about API or SAE.

Dave, you need to look for this symbol...that is where you will find the API service rating.

The symbol and rating information is gone from the container.
The container has updated information on front and back reflecting the Federal mandate.
I wish i had taken pictures of the new labeling.

Manufacturer supplied fluids do not (in most cases) contain any API information. This is true for GM, Harley-Davidson, etc. Anyone who "Brands" their product from a supplier.
