Build and Price Specs on Ford.com Now Gone?

I ordered a 2017 F350 Platinum 6.7L on April 10th. (Does not show up in COTUS, but a Ford Chat revealed it was estimated to be at my Michigan dealership May 24th).

One of the features I really liked about the 'Build and Price' on ford.com was that you could go through all of the different configurations (cab, 4x2, 4x4, box length, engine, etc) and the towing and payload specs would update automatically on each trim level to the right of the 'configurator'. This was really helpful as I was also concurrently ordering a new fifth wheel.

I've been on the forum a lot reading and absorbing and there is much discussion about weight, payload, towing...all the good stuff. Out of curiosity, I went back to the 'Build and Price' because I wanted to see again the difference in payload capacity between the SRW and DRW and to my surprise - and disappointment - that feature is no longer there.

At the time I was researching and configuring, all of that information was readily available. Now I am only able to find conventional towing and gooseneck/5th wheel capacities via a google search that points to a .pdf on ford.com. No data even on their comparison tool. I did find "best in class" data max specs, but that isn't helpful.

Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, anyone know why Ford eliminated this crucial data from being easily obtained? Or is it available and I'm missing a stupid web browser plug in or something!? haha - but I used two different computers and browsers to hopefully ensure it's not operator error. Maybe a ford.com guy can comment? Seems like a real disservice if this has indeed been removed.

Nice to be on the forum - a lot of great people here!

I cannot say why it was removed, but after reading this post I just went and checked the build and price, the vehicle comparisons and a few other easy to find Ford "tools" and you're right, that info isn't there any more. I too found it helpful when I was going through the ordering process.

Jim, the tools are there, just the payload details that were part of the tools are no longer there.

Question

Now I see that element is missing.

It looks like the tool's been deliberately changed. For example, the configuration icons on the left side of the tool are different. I wonder if the payload calculator was dropped on purpose or by accident?

Regards,
