2012 xlt f250 Possible Climate control issue
I noticed several months back that the A/C compressor was not running. I was driving home from town, so I was unable to check the charge or pressure switches. It started working again before I got home and had worked till last week. The pressures are correct and all the connections on a/c control circuit are good. Last week it acted up again. The family and I was headed into town when I noticed it wasn't cooling. It was raining, so I was unable to check for power. I verified the the clutch was not engaged. Got back in the truck, hit the climate control power button a couple times (out of frustration) and the comperssor started working again. After about 30 minute it would quit again. Hitting the power button a few times did the trick.
I am leaning towards the climate control being the issue but wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar issue.
I am not sure I turning the system off could be resetting an issue or pressing the button is moving something inside of the climate control panel making a connection. The A/C indicator is lit.
I know that some vehicles have a cabin temperature sensor that it contols to, is this the case on these trucks? Is there a 3rd party scanner that can assist in diagnosing the climate control?
