Thanks guys for the heads up on the Miles Oil. I will get my brother (he has a prime account) to order some of that for me.

I am glad that I have only been running rotella for the last 12 years in my 7.3. Hopefully that means I haven't been supporting China or Venezuela!

Wow. Do you folks who buy the buckets have pumps, or do you finagle some other way of getting the oil into your trucks? I have some empty 1 gal Valvoline bottles I could pour it into, but that 5 gal bucket's gotta be heavy, and I'm getting older and lazier ...

I took my rig in for service yesterday and asked if they were using a CK-4 and the reply was yes. Here is what the service invoice shows: XO 10W30 QSDF Motorcraft SAE 10W-30 WSS-M2C1

I have Googled the net and searched the forums but can't find an exact fit. Is this a full synthetic CK-4?

Try googling the whole thing. It looks like a synthetic blend that is not diesel rated. If they put that in my truck I'd be pissed.

This is why I do my own oil changes.

Found the following
link link
on Amazon. It is CJ-4, straight dino, and Ford specified for our 7.3's, but I thought 15W-40 was the recommended weight?

Edit: I'm wrong above. Try this Ford link. Still looks like dino to me

TRIAX FLEET SUPREME ESP 5W-40 - FULL SYNTHETIC 5 GAL - CJ-4 Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil -... [url]https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RFB15F/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_tai_BM-Ezb[/url...
So looking at all these links, I came across this stuff. Will this work in our trucks?? It say it meets Ford WSS M2C171-E specs.

That is the closest product number so far and I agree, not a synthetic and not CK-4. I hate being lied to. I'm fine with it being CJ-4 but pissed it is not synthetic as told when I asked the question before handing them the key. Thanks to all for the searches.
Correction; it does say CK-4 but not Synthetic.

I carry a 1 gallon jug of oil with me. When I change my oil I dump that in. Then refill it from the 5 gallon bucket. Then dump that in. Repeat for 15 qts. Once the oil is full in the truck I refill the gallon jug, put it in a trash bag a toss in a milk crate on my flatbed I keep fluids in.

I use this:

https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-19702-Dispenser-Lid-Cap/dp/B006G3W418/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&qid=1501333284&sr=8-36&keywords=oil+can https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-19702-Dispenser-Lid-Cap/dp/B006G3W418/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&qid=1501333284&sr=8-36&keywords=oil+can

Or when the bucket gets a little lower they have funnels with threads that screw into the oil fill tube

Do you have that Lisle funnel, and does it thread into our oil fills - "many Ford trucks" could be the F150 gassers? Would be awesome if it fits well.
