First time hauling with the new truck

So I got the opportunity to haul a decent load for the first time in my new truck. Got a smokin deal on some used turf and decided to just buy the entire roll and redo the front yard (i have a small yard).

But the roll was 500 sq. ft. and weighed in at around 3000lbs. Normally turf isn't so heavy but this had been removed from a soccer field and already had the in-fill rubber grindings, basically rubber sand, and sand mixture in it which substantially increased the weight. So I got myself a trailer that could take it and went for it!

First is a picture of the finished product then several of the load and loading the trailer.

Upon getting home my wife told her parents who were helping "This is the most excited you'll ever see Brian! When he gets to use his truck!" She's not wrong.

That looks nice. How did you prepare the base for that?

Your truck laughed at that load, no doubt.

Thanks Bill! We contoured the ground so there would be no areas water could accumulate and swept all large debris away. Nothing more than that. It's such a small area and won't be used for playing or anything by kids that after talking to the rep he said what we did would be fine. We did put more of the rubber sand in-fill once it had been laid down too.

It was my first time hauling something with electronic brakes, that was very interesting and nice. The truck did indeed shrug the weight off like it was nothing. Never felt under powered at all. Tow/haul mode worked great to keep the truck from picking up speed or gear hunting. 100% satisfied with my truck.

I would echo Bill's comment:

That ain't no load at all for THAT truck.

Nice landscaping, BTW.

Your yard looks awesome. And I agree with the above posts, your truck hardly knew it was towing anything.

Agree, we all need to haul/tow more often. Nice yard too!
