Yeah it was pretty warm today, going to be hot the next two days they say. Think I will stay indoors and farm on the PC. LOL

Moderate heat here. Guess we are close enough to the coast to enjoy the light sea breeze. Happy about that.

BTW - cooked bacon (BACON!) for breakfast today. Picked up a couple pounds of the applewood smoked bacon at Costco last week. I've found that the BEST WAY to cook bacon is on our BBQ. It's a little tricky, but I have the formula down, and it is hands down the best way to cook the stuff.

Going to be in the 90's today they said yesterday. have not checked the weather report to find out just how hot, since except to check the mail, I have no plans to go outside.

Well, after checking the weather report (I knew I shouldn't have) I find out that for the next five days it will be high 90s to low 100's and the two days over a hundred? Sunday and Monday. Except for church, looks like I will be a man-cave dweller for he next few days. Glad Winco is open 24/7. Can go grocery shopping early in AM or late at night when it is not that hot.

Totally missed the cooking bacon on a BBQ part. Never tried that, should be fun, except i don't have a BBQ.

Think I'll buy me some eggs and bacon, and tomorrow or Monday when it is over 100 degrees, I'll clean up the sidewalk and fry them. LOL. Just kidding, that would require me to be out in the heat the entire time, that ain't going to happen.

Jim,

I've got to agree. I wonder if the neighbors will be upset if I start mowing the lawn at 6:00 AM

It's getting really warm up at the North end of the Valley.

The secret is using a good propane grill with a mezzanine. We have a Weber with a mezzanine that is ~~ 8" above the main grill. Start at medium-low temp (keep it below 400 degrees). I then close the lid, and keep it shut for between 3 and 4 minutes. If a lot of smoke starts coming out, you are getting a flair; open the lid. The flairs will be below the less-lean parts of the bacon. Lower the grill temperature to control the flair ups. By the time the bacon is near the end, I generally have the grill on the lowest temp setting; sometimes I even turn off one of the burners. It is actually more baked than grilled; I like it because the clean up is so, so easy (like none).

Gonna have to try that sometime! Probably at my folks' house since I have a charcoal BBQ.

I would not try it on charcoal.

I will say that after I read about it, my first attempt was on the main grill. I managed to basically vaporize the bacon. You have to keep an eye on it, and you have to turn it every 3-4 minutes. Total time from start to finish is usually about 12 - 14 minutes.

I broke in my smoker with a slab of back fat, greezed it up real nice , the only thing to do now is change out my smoke box to a bigger tank , had a hard time keeping the heat with it but had plenty of smoke.its a home made smoker out of a water heater and 5 gal propane heat box .
As for the heat wave, not liking it , when's it going to cool off and rain

Over the heat. Up at 0630 to walk dogs and such before its to hot. Debating just bringing eggs and bacon along for the walk and cooking on sidewalk.
