Most transactions can be done on line...among the ones that can't are new registrations...unless you're a dealer. Dealerships have become mini registry offices...able to process new and transfer registrations. They have a supply of plates on hand. This was a big help when they instituted the program. Some of the larger insurance agencies also provide that service.

Same here Ken. For the most part most everything for vehicles and drivers license renewal can be done online or at kiosks at the entrance to the DMV office. A few exceptions for titles for new vehicles turning tags in, etc have to be done inside as well as new driver stuff like getting a license or learners permit. They would rather it be done online or by mail if possible. And the dealers in my area can do registrations and issue tags for vehicles. Most issue either paper tags or hard metal tags. ( depends on what they were issued.)

No temp tags in MA...never have had them. Dealers in VT and NH have had them for years. We can cancel plates on line...convenient.

Gotta run...the larder is bare...and...it's Old Farts Day at one of the supermarkets...10% off everything!!! g Peace!!!
