1996 F150 one year only parts? Think my truck might need some
I just got a pretty nice ( I live in NY mind you ) 1996 F-150 dirt cheap. 2 tone, XLT. Ex cab, short bed. 302/ Auto. Restorable rust, ect... from a dealer I know on a back lot " you fix it deal ". He told me it needed a fuel pump and he didn't think it ran the way it was. 2015 tags in the window. I stuck a battery in it, and on rear tank it ran good and smooth. Front tank pump would not run. Eventually discovered the pump over and gas spewing out of the front/ center tank filler neck.. So in went in a brand new Spectre FDM into the front tank.. Now truck runs smooth on both tank/ pumps..
New problem is the rear end is blown. Pinion bearing went and someone just kept driving. I noticed the problem when putting the driveshaft back in after tank swap... filled the rear up ( empty ) Then test drive and yup.. it's howling.. Dealer also has a junk vehicle stash and has a truck with a good rear, correct ratio, pretty much identical truck but a single cab 1992, so right now I'm working on getting it pulled so I can swap..
What is 1996 only?. I'm considering buying the entire 1992 parts truck. My hotrod can use the 1992 302, already got the rear, parts truck has Warn hubs, and my truck has OEM Ford ( seem ok still )
I've always wanted a square body and this one cought my eye. It's probably the nicest one I've seen around.

The Ford EVP and DPFE sensors of the EEC-IV era can be swapped from valve to valve. I've only ever seen one chart for resistance values so I assume the sensor is the same regardless of application. Whether the electrical connector is the same is easy enough to fix that I wouldn't worry.
