Going from a 5.4 V8 to the 2.7L Ecoboost

That's a beauty! I will definitely post pics to this thread as soon as I have more time. Ive added a few accessories, tonneau cover, hood shield and rain guards. The stock tires are lame. I'm on the fence on keeping them for their life's duration and buying Goodyear Duratracs like I had on my 2010, or getting the tires now. I'm leaning toward keeping them for their lifespan and saving the money.
The Goodyear Duratracs are some great tires, IMO

I'd like new tires myself, but I'm going to wear out the stock tires this time around. The Hankook's on mine are "adequate " for no more than what I'm doing with the truck, not sure what brand / size I'll eventually go with. For now, just can't justify the extra expense of replacing perfectly good tires. When the time comes, I also plan to level the truck and replace all of the shocks....

That's what I did. Wore out the factory Goodyear's and put the Fuel's on it.

Luv this truck
Had my Race Red 2.7 Crew 4wd about a month and a half, its only the XL trim, but compared to my old Toyota Tacomas its luxurious. I never had a performance vehicle, this thing feels really quick to me. Milege is better than I ever got out of my 2015 Taco, 19.5 in town with a light foot. My brother n law who is a 100% Silverado v8 guy, drove it was blown away just how well it drove. This truck fits my needs perfectly. After discounts I got in the truck for about 34,000 and it's a sharp looking truck. I'm 54 and if 20 years ago you would have told me a 2.7 in a full size truck would run like this and get nearly 20mpg in town I'd thought you was a nut! The 2.7 ain't for everyone, but for a guy who doesn't tow or work the truck every day it's way more than I ever dreamed I'd ever have parked in my driveway!

Go for the 2.7 you won't be disappointed. I just did a trip, Chicago to Knoxville and back. My combined mileage for the whole trip was 21.4. Traffic was kind of heavy both ways so who knows maybe we could have done better with lighter traffic. Plus the 2.7 feels like it has more power than the 5.4 in the city and on the highway so its all good.
