Ford raptor fan

So everyone knows the factory fan on these trucks is WAY over kill and draws alot of power. We also know the flex a lite fans suck. So I'm thinking about throwing in a Ford raptor cooling system and I can't seem to find a write up on this?

Gotta trim the shroud is all. We did that on Glenn's just to be safe.

Honestly after towing at a decent power level the factory mechanical fan gets over whelmed in the summer. If I tow at potential the engine starts to get moving up. I don't think much of any electric fan will keep up with that.

Trimming the shroud is a requirement for the 6.0 fan. I have 20,000 miles or so on mine, including some rugged and rocky mining roads where things get as distorted and twisted as they ever will. No problems at all.

Trimmed mine just like the pic above and also cut it in half to the top half of the shroud could be easily removed.

I don't want an engine driven fan... Trying to free up power. Thought I made that clear

If you want your truck to overheat with E-fans be my guest, Diesel engines are not like Gasser's. If you want power look elsewhere such as a tuner, injectors, intake and exhaust.

Unless the clutch has failed in lock-up mode, it shouldn't be dragging much power when not needed?

The 6.0 fan was noticeably quieter. The 7.3 metal blades are not evenly spaced...not sure why...or if this is part of why they are noisier.

The factory raptor fan actually moves alot of air. It's quite impressive.

This thread is useless. No idea why I came on here asking a performance question, guess I'll just do it and make it happen

Brett, I've read about guys taking their fan off altogether. No mechanical fan, no electrical fan, nada, just the normal air flow through the radiator from moving down the highway without any problems at all. I don't know what they were towing, if anything.

Let us know how your Raptor fan works out? Maybe we can all learn something.
