CC's were built by hand by Ford 1965 to at least 79 in Ontario Canada (ND will know when production shifted to the US). 4wd's were only F-250's until 1979. Here is some added info:
1969 Special Order Option Newsletter
Your grill has a 71 insert so double-check your vin and the sticker on the driver door pillar for the production date.

For complete info you can order a Marti Report. I have 2 4wd CC's, a 70 and a 76.

Didn't something in the production shift from the 72 to the 73 model. I thought there was a place Ford had them done through the 72 model and started doing it all in house 73 and later. I've forgot most of what I researched when I owned a 69. I do remember no specific body code for a crew and when you really got to looking, like under the rear door panels, the work was pretty crude. Sure didn't look like anything Ford would have done.

The truck is a 72', I have the original build sheet from the Canadian plant that built it, with every option available....

5th digit of the VIN is the assembly plant code:

Mid year 1965* & 66 F100/1100 & 1967/79 F250/750 Crew Cabs: C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

AFAIK: All 1965/72 Crew Cabs were converted from Regular Cabs and so...were Domestic Special Orders (6 digit DSO).

There is no parts catalog info for Domestic Special Order specific parts, so none of these Crew Cab parts are listed in the 1964/72 truck parts catalog.

1973/79: Parts are listed in the parts catalog for all trucks, including Crew Cabs.

*Prior to mid year 1965, Crew Cabs were assembled by Crown Coach and etc. outside body makers.

These Crews have exposed rear door hinges, different shaped rear window frames.
