Intermittent brake warning light?

Hi I'm new to the site. I have a 1996 crew cab 4x4 f250 7.3 with 299,000 miles with and intermittent brake warning light. I've checked all vacuum lines and vacuum pump all seem to be in good working order, brake reservoir is full. Not sure where else to look, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vacuum pump seem to be in good order? How did you check it? Did you put a vacuum gauge on it ?

It is a brand new pump. I can only assume its good as I did not put a gauge on it.

Ok what kind of vacuum should I see off of the pump, and is there a specific gauge that I need to buy?

I think It should pull 19-22 in on a gauge. I put a new one on and it only lasted a mo.. Does your brake ease down while setting at a stop? How old is the booster?

Ok thanks, brakes seem to be working fine, pedal stays up and not sure how old the booster is as I'm the 3rd owner of the truck.

Also make sure the emergency brake peddle is releasing all the way. As these trucks age they tend to stick a bit.

I think the parking brake light can come on with a bump, that happened to me before. I'd check that switch. I had the switch at the reservoir go bad before i didnt get a brake light but it would intermittently shut off my cruise controler and i also had the switch go bad at the pedal which would cause the same issue. The only one that caused a light was the parking brake switch.
