weird problem....
2016 expedition EL
all doors shut and locked at night
next morning rear window unlatched and battery low from interior lights being on.

Why does the window unlatch itself??

Somebody bumped the rear window button on your remote. The real question is why didn't the system turn off the interior lights after 5 minutes of nothing happening? It's supposed to, just to prevent an open door/hatch from draining the battery.

ok so I took the tailgate apart, cleaned all the switches and contacts.
pushing the button for the glass and nothing happens.
As I'm looking at it 10 min later suddenly the glass unlatches on its own.
I took batteries out of the remotes.
Then every 30 sec with the glass open, I keeps trying to unlatch over and over again.
If it does this all night no wonder it drains the battery. It is not a continuous drain on the battery so the battery saver system never is triggered.
Why does it keep unlatching by itself?????

Will it do this if it is in the dealer's service area? If so I would try that... Hope you're still under warranty (should be unless you're over 36k miles).
