True, but the unfortunate thing is that if they try and push an engine fix through ford for warranty work, Ford is already aware of that VIN being neglected and wont cover engine repairs under the warranty. IT will come back on the new owner and dealer... sad...

We are working together to find exactly what I am looking for and I have a great feeling that we will find exactly what I am looking for.

I wanted to post up the VIN of the truck I just had so it will hopefully not get picked up by some poor soul on this forum. Please post it wherever it needs to be so people see it and don't get stuck with it without knowing its history. Thank you all for your help and support! it has been a rough stressful 3 weeks, but I hope my story can help those who may come to be in the same situation or are looking to purchase a used vehicle and learn what to look for and what questions to ask before they buy.

VIN: 1FTEW1EG2FFB28262

EDIT: Just looked at the Carfax and they are offering this truck for sale at the dealer already. Buyer Beware!!!! I can't believe it...

OP. When you say all of your money back did they give you the sales tax back and the plate fees and registration also? Just curious.

Yes. Under the NY Lemon Laws I would be entitled to a FULL refund which is what I requested and was given.

I'm very pleased that this has been resolved in the best possible way.

But, the NY dealer did do the right thing after their huge blunder which leads me to believe that they aren't a bad dealer per se but rather they allowed some hack to certify a truck that shouldn't have been.

But t hen I read on George's post where they listed it again. I'm wondering if their techs have decided that the engine is good to go and they decided to certify it again. As posted above, nothing may ever come of this but the OP is happy and whole and that's all that matters here.

I would be very interested in the future of that truck/engine. The truck itself might be a very nice vehicle. However, I wonder how much the engine might get cleaned up, and how long it will last.

I would imagine some turbo/phaser issues in its future. Maybe the flush got a majority of it out, but i doubt it.

The dealer will buy back your truck

The dealer will change the oil and filter and send this truck to auction

Someone will buy this truck, never knowing the history. The motor will make it out of warranty, but die shortly after and the owner will be on FTE pissed off and bad mouthing ford.

You're not really psychic....rather than send the truck to auction, the dealer had the GALL to re-list the truck as CPO to sell it themselves. If they did a flush and extensive compression tests, *maybe* the engine will hold up thru the warranty period but this ain't gonna be a 200,000 mile engine. I really hope that the buyer is local to the dealer so that it shows up in their service department for any remedial work instead of being shipped out of town again.

The dealership has nothing to lose by reselling the truck. They probably wrote up the "return" under their 30-day no hassle guarantee. They performed the minimal inspection and she's ready to go. The next customer will probably not ask for the service records and the oil will look clean on the dipstick. It doesn't matter if the engine blows in a few months or years and the warranty status is irrelevant. The dealership will likely get the repair work if the customer is happy with his/her buying experience. The dealership will get paid under any scenario.

Congrats on finally getting that nightmare out of your life! I'd like to see pictures of your new/future truck!

BTW, I searched the VIN, and I get 2 references to this topic halfway down the first page, so it's a pretty safe bet that anyone who searches the VIN will find this topic. If a future potential buyer searches the VIN, they should have no problem steering clear!

Well...all good stories must come to an end. In my case, a very happy ending. Today I went by my local ford dealership and found a NEW 2017 F150 Platinum Black/Black ecoboost. I was able to work out a great deal and pulled the trigger...I get to pick it up tomorrow morning after they detail it and get it ready. Here are a few pictures i took while I was there. I will post up some new ones tomorrow or by the weekend. I am so excited. this thing is fully loaded with EVERYTHING Tech, 360 camera, hill decent, adaptive cruise, moonroof, FX4, extended fuel tank, Max tow package, park assist, lane keep, etc...Only think it doesn't have is spray in bedliner, which I will take care of. I am very excited and the piece of mind was worth paying more for my 10 year truck... (I'm taking that red pin stripe off lol)
