Manual Trans swap?

I have a 4 speed in my 59 f100 and I want to put in a 5 speed to lengthen the ol legs a bit. Has anyone done this? If so what, how, and pics please. I'm struggling to find a newer 5 speed that will bolt up to my transfer and rear driveline. I currently have a 72 360 powering the ol guy and will eventually drop in a rebuilt 390.

Thanks in advance.

NV4500 would be a road already paved but you will still have to deal with building a driveline and a shifter for the T case. If you are doing an engine swap anyway, you might consider a 351 or 460 with the ZF and married transfer case.
I have access to a 460/ZF donor truck and am considering the swap into my 59. I would probably go carbureted which means swapping heads too.

Just have to jump in head first and get it done!! I haven't driven it in 5+years so I think it'll be staying the 4 for awhile longer, i just want to drive it LOL.

Thanks

While you are sorting it out. You can change the rear end from a 3.7:1 to a 3.00:1. You can then actually start in 1st gear instead of it being a granny and you can cruise at 70. Much easier and faster.

I assume when mtdorf said transfer you meant transfer case which indicates four wheel drive and that would mean changing 2 gear sets. Also a lot will depend on tire diameter, camshaft selection ect.
