Inner/Outer Fenders
All: Just a quick question to confirm my recollection re attaching inner & outer fenders.
The 5/16-18 J-nuts go on the inner fenders with the nut facing the tires, and the outer fenders go over top and attach with 5/16-18 bolts with "toothed", loose washers above the thread just under the bolt head, correct?
Any close-up photos that were posted would be a great help.
I did take pics while dismantling, but not detailed enough, darn, isn't 20/20 hindsight great!
Thx. Jeff

I don't have any J-nuts between inner (apron) and outer fender. The bolts pass through outer, then inner and a washer and nut on the back side, but no J-Nut in those locations.
Illustration Section 160 Page 1 shows the detail. Definitely separate nut from below in the pics. Same as all 3 of my trucks here and all I've taken apart, too.

I apologize....mis-spoke! Chad is right, both trucks (65,66) I disassembled had the 5/16 bolts with a captive washer, but had flat washers and nuts on the underside. I'm pretty sure they were locknuts, as the replacements I bagged are "stover" (crimp lock) nuts. That's what I get for relying on my memory...and the reason why I bag all the original hardware. Hope I didn't screw you up, Jeff....sorry! The J-nuts are used on the grill and probably a few other areas....I guess that's why I bought a box.

TA455HO, resonateur, Thx again for the help & clarification in attaching the aprons & fenders.
TA, I' should have checked the exploded view diagram before throwing my question into the chat. I'll do that now.
Resonateur, no problem with the earlier advice, as my project in slo-mo, so I cogitate on each step before plunging in. I had not done any re-assembly on the fenders, just circling around cleaning bolts and getting ready.
Eric, thx, I think I'm good for fasteners, but would like to visit to see your F100 just before plunging in.
Thx guys, Jeff
