4R100 Transmission Parking Gear Press Fit

I recently purchased a used 4R100 4x4 output shaft with a reluctor ring and parking gear installed, and the parking gear is a little loose on the shaft. It moves about 20 thousandths axially on the shaft but there is no perceivable rotational motion.

As I understand it this gear is press-fit onto the output shaft so I expected it to be on there without any play. I figured it would be worth it to ask if this is an issue or if this is to be expected with a used assembly.

Thanks.

I have the same problem. The parking gear ist loose the same way. Is it a problem to reinstall it like this or do i need an other gear or maybe shaft because of the play?

You could try the green bearing retainer loctite, otherwise, hope that it’s only the parking gear that needs replacing and not both the gear and output shaft.
