Since I was at a standstill on the intake manifold project, I decided to go ahead with the cab marker/clearance lamps...

• Pulled the left side headliner moldings
• Lowered the right side headliner moldings
• Pulled the headliner
• Removed the hold-down bolts and had the kids help me remove the shell
• Marked out the drill holes for the lamps
• Drilled out the holes-all fifteen of them
• Mounted the LEDs in the sockets, mounted the sockets in the bases, mounted the bases to the roof
• Soldered-up the hot leads to a red wire
• Soldered up the grounds to a black wire
• Pulled the dash bezel and instrument cluster
• Snaked the hot and ground leads down the A pillar
• Tied the hot lead into the brown for the external lights
• Put a loop connector on the ground lead, and screwed it to ground
• Discovered that LEDs really are polarized, and had to fix three of them
• Discovered one LED was broken, so off to O'Reilly for a pair
• Discovered the socket had a bad connection, so repaired that

And...they all light up!

Looking good. Cab lights belong on these trucks as far as I am concerned!
