Wipers won't shut off - 2011 f150

Wiper is in off position, but continues to operate intermittenly.

You need to replace the multi function switch (wiper stalk) it's about a $50 part and takes about 10-15 mins to replace. Had the same issue with my 2011 and read about it happening to multiple other people.

I had the same thing happen to my 2001 Subaru Forester several years back. Was able to find an appropriate replacement part at the local junkyard for about $20. You may want to look into that route before paying full retail. Personally, I consider an issue like that as something less than critical, so for stuff like that I don't mind seeing what I can find in the way of used parts.

I've never had good luck with used multifunction switches, other things like power window switches and such no problem.

If I remember correctly the part number on the new one was updated from the original. It does seem to be a semi common issue, so spending a few extra bucks to not have to pull it apart again any time soon was higher on my priority list.

The difference in price between new vs. used would definitely be a factor, too. If it's only $50 new, it's kinda hard to argue with that. On my aforementioned Forester, the junkyard part was about $20, as opposed to ordering a new one which was around $80 if memory serves me correctly.

I guess I paid $28 for the new one, but that was with a decent discount through my local dealer.

Link to when I replaced mine.
