Should the window go down with the power window motor out?
So I bought a 93 f350 and the PO told me the power window motor was bad... so pull the door panel off and to my surprise there is no motor there.. what surprises me is that the window stays up and I can't force (gently) it down.
I've looked and can't see what's holding it up and since the mechanism is in the door I can't really tell.

That was my first thought, after spending an hour experimenting, lubricating pushing and pulling I was about to drill the rivets out of the regulator and I dropped a screwdriver into the door... so I grabbed my mirror and flashlight and started digging around and felt something... the PO put a wood dowel and wedged it against the door lock actuator... it completely blended in and of course I didn't look to that side of the door...
I'll never understand people, the motor is like 24 bucks..... not surprised though with some of the "clever" wiring and other hack jobs I've come across on This truck... anyhow, thanks for the advice all

I basically spent every weeknight and today undoing crap this guy did. He obviously loved bailing wire because it's every where.
I don't know if you're familiar with out coolant reservoirs but one side slips into a slot and the other side has a stud and a nut.. this guy must have reinstalled the bottle at one point and forgot to put the one side into the slot, so rather than unbolt it and move it he used bailing wire to tie it down... took me literally 2 minutes.
Sheet metal at the door handle tore, he bailing wired the handle to the frame... I just want into my junk bin and found a 2 inch washer and backed up the sheet metal and it's good to go.
I've also almost filled a five gallon bucket of wiring headaches, he has the splice connectors all over the place and it looks like this truck has had about 3 alarm systems in its life...
almost completely finished unhacking this truck.

On this truck I've noticed a lot of cut wires and all that jazz too... pulling the carpet to install some sound proofing showed me what appeared to be the wires for the lumbar function of my seats.
