Help! No previous problems. Van set for a week. Quickly starting as usual. Ran for about 3 seconds. Died. Cranks, but does not start. Hear fuel pump when key is on. Computer(EEC-IV) gives code 33 error only. Voltage at spark plugs. Sprayed starting fluid. Cranks, but does not start. Any help? Thanks.

Try posting an add with the heading like prob code 33 ID. I have no idea what the code is but alot of other guys on this site do. They may not read this because of the heading. Maybe the code will give you the answer.

Code 33 is an Egr related problem . I dont think that will cause a no start unless its stuck completely open & even then the engine would try to run . Check & make sure you have the proper fuel pressure . If thats ok then there may be a mechanical problem , timing chain for instance .... How many miles on this vehicle ?

Update: I replaced the distributor control module today. Engine started, but now only idles. No fluctuation of engine speed when accelorator is pressed. Could it be the engine computer(Electronic Control Module?)

It could be the TPS / throttle position sensor. It is located on the bottom of the throttle body.
