I recently sold my 2012 f250 with the 6.2 gas and I'm looking at a 07 f350 diesel.

My question is regarding my SCT x4 that I had for my 6.2 gas. Prior to selling that truck I set it back to stock(unmarried the programmer) and I was going to sell the device. Now that I look at it and have done some internet searching is says gas or diesel. I'm thinking it contains canned tunes and is universal to both? Is my thinking correct? I never came across anything definitive. I really have no intention of tuning the 6.0 for power but I would like to turn of the cel coming from the egr delete.

I'm going to look at this truck in person today so I really hope it turns out to be a nice one. It's the only one (seriously) in 6 weeks of looking that has not been a theft recovery.

Hopefully somebody is much more knowledgeable regarding programmers then I am. Thinking I might need a custom tune that only shuts off the egr but at least if the device is the same it's a score from my closet.

 

If I am correct, the same device is used for whichever vehicle. It is the tunes that are specific. You should be able to keep your X4, but you'll have to contact SCT to get tunes for the 6.0 versus the gasser tunes or possibly another tune software.

There is an Updater program on SCT's site that might help you. Or you can call them.

If all else fails then you can sell it to me for real cheap! LOL
