These HPO issues are really kicking my butt!!!

Okay, 8 new FORD injectors, 8 new nipple cups and o rings, I'm really loosing hope here!

Took the truck to go look at a boat ran like a clock 100miles there smooth at silk.

Shut the truck off looked at the boat went to leave and the truck was idling rough....IPR was at about 27/28% at idle. Headed there it was at 23% at idle.

Ran rough the whole way home but made it home.

I air tested it prior to putting it back together and it didn't have any hises or leaks.

Where do I go from here? Pull the IPR and check the screen? Pull the HPOP out and replace all the o rings? Replace stand pipes and HPO lines to the rail? I'm running out of options and patience at this point.

Prior to all these issues all I did was attemp to clean the spool valves and then the upper o rings were leaking so I replaced all 8 injectors, then the nipple cups and o rings because I was having a no start hot. It starts up instantly hot or cold

Have you verified your fuel pressure at WOT? It needs to be greater than 45PSI.

Would that effect oil pressure issues?

If an injector was damaged with low fuel pressure causing it to idle rough then yes it could as it will have trouble maintaining idle rpms. Have you scanned for codes?

The only other thing I can think to do would be to double check the injector connectors and FICM connectors and any other connectors you touched or were working near. The only other place I could think a HPO leak can occur would be a cracked branch tube and that is assuming you've already addressed all the other common leak points.

Yep, I checked all the FICM plugs as well.

I will probably pull the IPR check the screen, the pull the valve covers again(for the 5th time) and air test it.

It just doesn't make sense to me truck had Zero HPO issues just crazy stiction isues and now it's been nothing but HPO leaks from here

Maybe I should drain the 10w30 and put 5w40 back into the system and see if that changes anything

Truck also hs a new ICP sensor......

Might consider pulling the IPR to inspect.

edit - beat me to it!

Yep, I will do that tomorrow and will change the oil as well. I have 3 IPR valves sitting in the tool box might try swapping it out with another one as well

Would it make sense to remove the HPOP and check o rings for damage/replacement?

Everything I read pretty much as said if they were an issue the truck would start at all though.

According to a DTR video there is an o ring on the tube that connects to the HPOP that can fail as well so he always recommends replacing them

O-ring between HPOP and block(yellow), one between j tube discharge and pump(thin black), and finally the square d-ring that goes on top. It is possible to mix the bottom and top up. I can't remember if you had the HPOP out?

Actually DTR advises to replace the j tube when doing the HPOP on early builds.
As others said, check the IPR.

Highly doubt you have stand pipe issues.....very rare on early build engines, same for the braided lines.

That's the tube I'm talking about.

HPOP has never been out.

I will start it in the morning and see if the rough idle is still there, if it is that would tell me injector issue or HPO leak when hot I guess.

It's just so odd it was idling perfectly and running perfect until I shut it off and restarted it.

I kinda figure if it were an injector issue it would of become an issue without turning the truck off then back on. Same goes for the IPR Or even an HPO leak idk.

Like i said I will swap IPR with a known good one and change the oil at the same time

Unless you have a FICM logic issue?
