Spartan Tune (75hp)
Hello all!
So I've had the tune installed for over a week now. The shift points are being learned and are pretty much where they need to be...except for the shift into overdrive...which doesn't seem to be changing. It is bizarre. Picture this...you're merging on to the freeway...going through each gear...not aggressively. Then you hit 50ish MPH and climbing. My T1 tuner always shifted at like 57 mph. If you keep the acceleration(gas pedal) constant...the RPMs will reach like 2,300 and MPH has to hit like 69 mph before it finally shifts into OD. Now...if you ease off the pedal a bit...in a speed range where I feel the truck should have already made the shift to OD...it will make the shift before hitting such high MPH and RPM. Don't like this at all. Also...there seems to be more boost...and less of that great pulling feeling where you really know you're getting good power to the ground. My Torque Tech T1 ("Mild tune"...level 2 (+80hp)) seems to make more power with less boost at a similar tune level (80 hp.) Quite the difference between the two. Spartan doesn't seem to make near the power. Now, I understand that I need to drive with the tune for at least 500 miles before passing judgement...but I don't feel the issue will go away. I also don't really want to run around with a 210hp or 275hp tune on my truck that I drive like an old man...with the occasional chooch of black smoke...though rarely when I'm passing someone on the highway.
Thoughts?
