2008 F-250 5.4L SD PCV?

A quick question about the PCV on a 2008 F250 SD 5.4L...

I know this PCV is heated... this PCV is basically a straight pipe with a heater element wrapped around it. Isn't there some sort of ball bearing inside it to prevent airflow in 2 directions like other PCV's?

When I blow through the PCV there is absolutely nothing inside it. Just a pipe which allows air to flow in any direction.

Am I missing something here? Did the guts fall out? I'm having vacuum problems I think.
