Damn. We just finalized our next year's vacation here this morning from June 10-23. Obviously the July date would work better for us, unless by a miracle we could leave here and come there.
Who knows about the AC units as it wasn't hot enough here this week to find out.

I still preferred the last week of June.
Over in the '17 section, Profesor Nomad is doing a cross-country, and one of his stops was Mammoth Cave. He has some pics posted up as well.

I hadn't even thought about it until reading his thread, but a distillery tour and tasting would be pretty awesome too! I enjoy bourbon, and what better place to get it than right there?

Funny story...making reservations for the UP in MI for our trip. A campground I wanted to stay at in Munising (right on the lake) had only a few spots left. They were all 20 amp sites so I asked if we would need our A/C in late July. He said, "well, it could be 95 or it could be 65 so it's hard to say." I hate sleeping when it's hot so we chose a different one with full 30 amp service.

I just bought a cheater so I can run off two 30a services so I can run two air conditioners at a time. I can't even imagine running Maude on a 20a service. I guess I could use the cheater to run off two 20a services with 30-20 adapters but that would still be tough running ac's as the start up surge might be over 20a. Bottom line is I like having a full 100 amps at my disposal when it's hot! I also like adapters and gadgets so I'm looking forward to that "crisis" where I need to put it all to use too...LOL
