Safe travels home guys! Looks like a good time despite the weather and we're still disappointed we didn't make it. Will make another sooner or later. We got rained on the past 2 days also. Half the stuff is in my truckbed and the rest is in the garage with the carpet rolled up. What a mess!

Got home, unloaded, gorged myself on leftovers (Doug's brisket got even better), and I'm going to get into more trouble with desserts from Jerriann, Jody, and Jeanellen (correct my spelling on that Gavin... lol) that got sent home with us.
I really enjoyed this week, thank you all for that. The nightly campsite GTG is something that needs to continue at future events (with more of those Smores treats of Maryann's...... hehe). The moonshine doesn't hurt either...

I have no idea why I have so many tire and wheel issues. What happened yesterday was an absolute nightmare. It happened just past the I-70 I-57 split near Effingham, IL. I told JeanEllen "I think we have a flat tire on the camper". It was a little more than a just flat tire. I pulled over to the side of the road and a good samaritan that was behind me stopped and said the tire looked low just before it came completely off the hub! The only clue I had is the plastic skirt on the camper was bent out and the tire that was still on that side was smoking. I was in shock. The first thing I did was call AAA, that was a complete waist of time. The automated attendant said "we are experiencing a high call volume and asked if we would like to stay on hold or if we wanted a call back". I decided to put the spare on myself. I then called 911 to see if I could get a state trooper to give me some cover since the missing wheel was on the drivers side. So I grab the jack and during breaks in traffic I got the axle raised. Next I get the spare out of the back of the truck and put it on the hub and then I realize..........I have no freaking lug nuts. I took the spare off the back of the camper, it was being held by two lug nuts and then took one lug nut off the other 3 wheels. That would give me 5 lug nuts on each wheel so I should be able to limp to an auto parts store where I can more lug nuts. I ask the wife to google nearby auto parts stores. While she is doing that I start installing the borrowed lug nuts. The threads completely caked with aluminum (note to self, bring a 1/2-20 re-threading die and tap) but I managed to get all 5 lug nuts installed and tightened. We were ready to go. I limped down the road 9 miles where there was a tiny NAPA auto parts store in Neoga, IL. We got there just 7 minutes before they closed. I put the 4 missing lug nuts on and torque all of the lug nuts. The lug nuts on the other three wheels were tight. After unloading the camper I was mentally and physically exhausted last night.
During the entire ordeal I was thanking god no one else was hurt when that wheel came off.

I agree with Andy. That could have went a lot worse for you. Glad you are in a place to address it correctly Gavin....
That said, here I sit in Wally World parking lot eating brisket and deer brats. Life could be worse. On the road again early tomorrow and HOME. After my trip to XLR the week prior, I've been gone almost 2 weeks. That's about enough. Unless we go West one of these years... Monty said he'd come after a bunch of shine...
