2015 Superduty Leaking Coolant

Have a 2015 King Ranch with 72k miles. I noticed today a small drip of coolant coming from the corner of the radiator near the drain vavle.

Anyone aware of this being a common problem?

The truck is deleted however before it was deleted I did purchase an extended warranty through Flood Ford. What are the chances they will deny a warranty claim on this because of the dpf and egr delete?

Its a common problem. I would hope they wouldnt deny, but could possibly. Need to find a mod-friendly dealership.

any chance you could return to stock for the service visit?

The delete does not have anything to do with the radiator, but common sense is lacking when customer pay is higher than warranty work.

And just to put things in perspective, that radiator replacement typically has run anywhere from $1200-$1500 depending on what part of the country you live in.

am I facing catastrophic failure or just a perpetual slow leak? Would be nice if i could wait a few weeks before taking it in. Right in the middle of some big projects

Many have just kept going with adding some coolant as needed. Does not appear to outright fail, giving you time to schedule the repair.

Check it often and add as needed.

yea, I have never heard of a catastrophic failure for that common leak. Many never get it fixed.

I talked to the service advisor at my shop before I took it in for a primary water pump leaking on my 15. Had a full delete and intake. They agreed there was no way the delete had anything to do with the leak and all was covered without putting the emission equip back on. Don't give him your name right away if you live in a **** state that you fear they will try and screw you out of warranty with an aftermarket air freshener, or just put you dpf back on. It's allot of work for nothing if you don't need it back on thou, can't see how a delete would cause a rad to leak, especially when it is a common failure but that's just my opinion.

I thought they updated the radiator to take care of this issue. I had one replaced at 42,000 miles then another at 85,000. The third one has lasted and I now have 187,000. As other stated the delete should not have caused this.

Yeah delete doesn't have anything to do with the failure. i have a 15 just crossed over 78K miles still bone stock and have gone through 2 radiators so far. Noticed the factory one leaking at about 74K miles and got it replaced but decided to go with a mishomoto instead thinking the better radiator for a alittle bit more money would hold up longer and I wouldn't need to worry about it for a long time. Then the mishomoto cracked and started leaking after only being in for roughly 3K. They determined it had been defected and replaced it with a new one but still have sunk 2 grand into radiator replacements instead of to the delete I've been dreaming for.
