Angry Aftermarket Tach

I purchased an aftermarket tach for my 2003 F150. I got the tach installed except for the hookup to the engine. Where do I hook it up to be able to get the proper RPM reading? I have a 4.2 V6.

I have four wires. One Red(power), one black(ground), one white(backlight for tach), and one green. According to the instruction the green wire is suppose to hookup to the ignition. I have all of the other three wires hookup up except for the green. I do not know where this wire needs to go. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

you need a tach for a D.I.S system (no distributer) unless the tach is made for a dis application you will most likley need a tach adaptor from msd or such a company

f150 guru is correct. because of our DIS ingnition, we need an adapter for any tachometers we want. go to jegs.com and they have one for about $80.
