I'm sorry blade, I know there is a lot of information here and it's hard to keep up with. I don't mind the questions or doubts, it could get confusing. I probably should have made a few more threads to keep things in order but I just wanted to keep going. So yea, the engine hydrolocked after I got done buttoning it up just last Sunday. I opened it up to change the stand pipes and dummy plugs. I then forgot to tighten down an injector hold down. That is what started this thread. I hydrolocked and wasn't aware of what I'd done yet. then when I opened it back up, I realized an injector was loose. But now that is fixed and I still have the rough running issue and now a brand new issue with the dull whining sound when I get above 10psi. I hope that clears it up for you guys.

Oh, and I forgot to mention a symptom of the whine. If I nail it real quick and let off, I hear this weird noise, like in the back of me. Like something is coming apart or something, maybe the exhaust? It happens if I build too much boost. Maybe somebody will know what it means? I thought I was going to break something. That is why I don't want to drive it like this.

Should I try to record the sound and upload it to the forum? Maybe that will help figure it out? I have the turbo sitting in my living room, I'm gonna clean it, although it's not even badly coked up, I only did it about 2 years ago. Only thing is the impeller seems a little tighter than I'd like, but the exhaust moves it fine at idle.

Is it a huffing sound, could be turbo farts. Happens right after you let off fast from being on it hard. Means the turbo needs cleaned, also clean the MAP and EBP sensors and tubes that feed them.

Not a huffing, it's a whine that keeps going for as long as I have it above 10 psi. It doesn't end until I let the psi down. I recently changed the EBP sensor about 2 years go. I will clean it though along with the MAP. Thanks

Are you sure you don't have a leaking flex-joint on the y-pipe or on an up pipe?

If you do record it be sure to get more than 5 seconds. Too short and it
really makes it a lot harder. Then just upload to Youtube and past the link here.

the more I google it, the more I'm thinking it's a leak. I am going to check all of the boots and pipes today. Thanks

I know

Lots of ways to troubleshoot just for being thuro sake

This truck make me wonder because thats alot of. Contrib Dtc for just one bad injector even to thd point the contribe DTC is calling both sides sugests eletronics need thuro test

Or atleast tge firing order taken into consideration

Swap eletrical conect on 6 with adjacent inject and buzz it does sounds improve

If you had a ficm repair done and fryed it again by hooking it a bad harness could play

The ficm was never bad, it worked fine, just that the voltage was a little low during cranking. I check it now during cranking and it's fine. How would I swap the connectors, they are long enough? I'll try that and see if it reaches. Those are good suggestions, thanks. Oh and now the noise from the turbo turned into a whistle. And it now does it while sitting idling after a drive but then it stops and I can't get it to do it anymore until I drive it again. While it was idling doing it, I took a funnel and put it to my ear and other end in engine, all over, but I could not find it. Which has me thinking it's the y pipe. I couldn't reach the funnel all the way back there.

Can one bad injector ruin all the others?

If it's going to be like 4 or 5 hundred dollars, I cannot afford that much. That is why I asked what you think about reman injectors.

Where Bill said or better yet from >>> FICMRepair.com - FORD Powerstroke 6.0 FICM Repair, PHP Tuning and Truck Parts
They are coming from the same place.

Also the only injectors you can get are remans.
