Just a little introduction

Hi all, I have a '63 falcon station bus, pretty much all original besides the things I'm doing. I put a 302 and C4 in as well as a 9" rear. I could use some help with brake drum identification, as the drums were lost. The brakes are 11' by 3" and a 4.5 bolt pattern. Having an awful time finding any info, most cars had 11's on the fronts. Would fronts be interchangeable?

Thanks a lot, and I'll post progress pics shortly, Zac

Hey Zac.
First of, welcome to FTE.
Where did that 9" rear end come from? Are you looking for drums for the 9"? or for the van? 11x3 would be something that you would find in an early (?72-76?) Ranchero/Wagon.
Do you need any other parts for your build. I'm getting ready to pull some parts off a 63 pick up and a 66 van. Live in Trenton.

Thanks for the response, it's a mystery rear end that was in a 52 truck hot rod. So the drums are a complete puzzle. I could use a set of cargo doors, or just the bottoms of them, and a rear bench. Maybe a front bumper if I decide to put one back on. The original was twisted up pretty good.

Econoline Axles

An Econoline 9" rear axle from 1963-1967 would have 10 x 2.5" brake drums. This is the same as on the front of all the 1961-1967 Econolines.

Thanks for the info, this 9" is not out of an Econoline, I believe it has been shortened and has Currie axles. the brake backing plate is for 11" brakes by 3" wide.

No F100 or F150 or Passenger Car w/a 9" rear axle came with 11" x 3.00" rear brake shoes.

The only F100's with a 9" rear axle and 4.50" bolt circle pattern are some 1980/83 F100's, the rear brake shoes are 10" x 2 1/2."

Here's some pics, the rusty drum is the original econoline drum. As I said this is a custom rear axle. Not from a stock passenger car, or truck.

Looks like you may have to deal with Currie or Summit or Jegs or Speedway for them drums. Call a local speed/performance shop and see if they can help you. A lot of drag racers upgraded to 11"x3" brakes.
AS for doors. The ones I have are in pretty good shape. They don't have any windows. I'll try to get some pics for you soon. I've got to move stuff to get to the stuff to find the stuff.. so to speak...

Thanks man, I think I found the solution to all my problems, aside from beer, watch this space, I'll post the answer as soon as it's verified. As for doors, I'll take them with no windows, not a biggie. I have a few extra bits also, if you're looking for anything.
