Ouch. Well if you load up some pics of the bay as it is now, I'm certain we can get you through it. Are any lines still in place or did you pull them all off?

Make sure to show everything that gets a vacuum line. There's really not a lot to it, but it does seem like a bird's nest until you figure out how it all ties together.

The diagram in my chiltons manual is useless. I take it the one under your hood is gone?

"What are these in the engine bay" is the name of a thread I started recently with pics of all my vac line ends, pretty much. I have a 94 5.8 but most of the components seem similar. If you take a look you'll be able to see some of what you need, and I can try to answer specific questions about them.

Do you know what your codes are yet? That could help narrow down the possibilities as well.

Same code I have and I think due to my busted white hose that goes from reservoir to EGR w/o teeing into any others. It does plug into a junction behind intake though, if you still have that.

The pink line goes to part of my AIR system which you didn't have pictured, I think. It's short, on my truck. It's from the tab/tad combo solenoid, to I'm not really sure what it's called. Let me check the thread and I'll see if I can pinpoint where in the pics

In post 9, pic 3. Look where the PCV hose leaves intake. Just a few inches down there's the rim of a rusty diaphragm cover, on a black plastic, structure, since I don't know what it's called. There's a rubber hose on the camera side of that black plastic thing. That is my pink line.

I didn't really notice where my fpr gets vacuum at but I can check in a little bit. Brake booster, MAP sensor and in my case I think 2 go over to the vac reservoir from the intake. Then the PCV also but I think that's it.

For your white line, I have two. One that goes to the EGR solenoid, which is my broken one in the pics. And usually a white one goes over to the hvac thing in the passenger side/firewall corner.
