Intake to turbo hat gasket, best?
What are you guys using for intake to turbo hat gaskets? Mine is leaking yet again, blowing oily CDR mess everywhere. Paper gaskets don't seem to last long or seal well, rubber gaskets sometimes kind of seal and last but are way oversize and swollen any time I remove them. I have paper, rubber (thin square cut maybe 1/8"), and round o-ring available to try. Oily mess is annoying and I'm sure it's losing some boost too. In cold weather I lose prime overnight and it's a hard first start, can't tell if anything is wet with fuel or oil with the intake hat oily mess.

Look at a 6"(IIRC) rubber O-ring? A flat one would work best I think.
Alternately, rig up an oil separator for separating out the oil from the CDR gaskets.
All you really need is a chamber with some of that fiber air filter media they use for home air filters on the cheap(they also use the same stuff for paint booth filters and aquarium filters).
That and a drain at the bottom of your chamber should clear up a lot of that.
Also, paper towels are great for diagnosing things. Zip tie a folded paper towel around the intake leak area to contain it, and put others in strategic places to catch and isolate leaks.

I ordered the parts from Banks to see what they used... Received a regular o-ring, round profile. removed the totally oil coated and saturated rubber carb gasket, it has not swollen but was obviously not sealing as it should. Installed the o-ring and an definitely getting more boost at lower RPM and less smokey. I'll give it some time and see if there it is still weeping oil past the o-ring.

Personally I've had bad luck with oil separators, I made one that was 12" tall out of 4" pvc, it did catch oil but a lot was still getting into the intake.
Great tip with the paper towel idea I'll have to remember that!
At this point after trying everything I vote silicone, not my first bet by far but has sure made a difference in odd places.
